and Classes for SEO
Within the code view of your pages, there are certain tags that help
your SEO and others that hurt your SEO.
Tags that contain 'hidden text' are poorly
received by the search engines even though they can be used for
genuine reasons. A benefit of the <style=''display: none''> tag is
that you can design your page for print purposes that eliminate the
'non important' page elements such as navigation, right columns etc
when a person chooses to print your document.
This will also however be read as an attempt to spam results because
most sites will cram additional keywords inside the tags.
Hidden text looks like this:
style=<div style=”display: none”>This is hidden text</div>display:
none''>
<div style=”position: absolute; left: -500px”>This is hidden
text</div>
<div style=”visibility: hidden”>This is hidden text</div>
There are many other ways to use hidden text
including using a z-index layer property. If your site uses layers,
make sure that the layers are always visible.
Tags for SEO
Tags can be used for SEO reasons, but they are
weighted minimally. Keep it one word only and spread across your
entire folder if you choose to use this avenue. We dont.
Tags can carry and ID. eg <table id="seo">, <div
id="seo">.
This small addition to the tag is better used for
controlling the CSS aspects of your site and for Navigation
purposes. Many database programs will add a small id= to a page,
table or div for creating a breadcrumb menu.
Site Tag Must Haves
Regardless of how the page has been created or in
which program you have made the file, you should include these 5
tags.

If your program does not allow you to easily add
these (in particular the title and headline) functions inside your
pages, copy the coding above and paste into the code view of your
page.
If you do not have access to the code, open the
page in a simple 'Notepad' , 'WordPad' or text only editor and paste
in the code, then upload the page via ftp. Every page must have a
unique title and headline for maximum optimization.
